CourtCast Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 23, 2026
This policy explains what information CourtCast processes, where it comes from, how it is used and shared, and how you can ask for it to be deleted. If you only want to delete your data, go straight to the CourtCast Data Deletion instructions.
1. Scope
This policy applies to CourtCast, the racket-sports community service available at courtcast.stream, including its installable web app. CourtCast lets players create a player profile, find players, clubs and venues, and take part in open-play sessions and tournaments.
2. Information CourtCast Processes
CourtCast processes the following categories of information:
- Sign-in information received from the sign-in provider you choose (see sections 3 and 6).
- Account information, such as your email address and internal account identifiers.
- Player profile information that you provide or that is filled in from your sign-in provider (see section 4).
- Sports activity, such as club and venue memberships, open-play and tournament participation, match results and ratings.
- Session information used to keep you signed in securely (see section 6).
CourtCast's application does not use analytics or advertising trackers, and its database does not store your IP address or browser user-agent string. Like any website, requests to CourtCast pass through hosting and network infrastructure that processes technical request data, such as IP addresses, in order to deliver the site.
3. Facebook Login / Meta Data
CourtCast offers Facebook Login as a sign-in option. When you choose to sign in with
Facebook, CourtCast asks Meta only for the public_profile and
email permissions. With those permissions, CourtCast may receive:
- your app-scoped Facebook user ID (an identifier specific to CourtCast);
- your name;
- your profile picture; and
- your email address, if you have one on Facebook and you allow CourtCast to receive it.
CourtCast uses this information only to:
- link your Facebook sign-in to your CourtCast account so you can sign in again later (the app-scoped user ID is stored for this purpose);
- create your CourtCast account and player profile the first time you sign in, pre-filling your display name and profile photo; and
- record your email address on your CourtCast account.
CourtCast does not request access to your Facebook friends list, birthday, gender, age range, posts, photos, messages or pages, and cannot post to Facebook on your behalf. CourtCast does not use Facebook data for advertising.
You can remove CourtCast's access at any time in your Facebook settings, and you can ask CourtCast to delete the data it holds by following the data deletion instructions.
4. CourtCast Account and Player Profile Information
Your CourtCast account and player profile may contain:
- your email address (stored on your account and not shown on your public profile);
- your display name and profile photo (either the photo supplied by your sign-in provider or an image you upload);
- your date of birth and gender;
- your city, province and country;
- your player category, bio and tagline;
- your CourtCast account and player profile codes; and
- your clubs, venues, sports, match history and ratings.
Player profiles are public. Anyone can view a CourtCast player profile without signing in. This includes your display name, photo, age or date of birth, gender, city, province, country, player category, bio, tagline, clubs, venues and match activity. Only include information on your profile that you are comfortable making public.
5. How CourtCast Uses Information
CourtCast uses information to:
- create and secure your account and let you sign in;
- display your player profile and let you edit it;
- show clubs, venues, open-play sessions, tournaments, match results and ratings;
- connect your sports activity to your player profile;
- protect the service against misuse and investigate problems; and
- respond to your requests, including deletion requests.
6. Authentication, Cookies and Sessions
You can sign in to CourtCast with Google, or with Facebook where available. CourtCast does not receive your Google or Facebook password.
When you sign in, CourtCast sets two cookies that are strictly necessary for the service to work: a session cookie that keeps you signed in, and a security cookie that protects your account against cross-site request forgery. CourtCast does not use advertising or analytics cookies.
On its side, CourtCast stores a hashed form of each session token together with when the session was issued, last used, expires and, if applicable, was revoked. Sessions expire automatically after a limited period (currently 12 hours from when they are issued), and you can end your session at any time by signing out.
The installable CourtCast web app stores copies of application files (such as page layouts, styles and icons) on your device so the app loads faster.
7. How Information Is Shared
CourtCast discloses information only in the following ways:
- Public profiles and sports activity. As described in section 4, player profiles, match results and related sports activity are visible to anyone.
- Sign-in providers. When you sign in with Google or Facebook, you interact directly with that provider, which processes your information under its own privacy policy.
- Infrastructure. Hosting and network infrastructure used to run CourtCast processes information as needed to deliver the service.
- Legal reasons. CourtCast may disclose information if required by law or where necessary to protect the safety, rights or property of users or CourtCast.
CourtCast does not sell personal information.
8. Data Retention
CourtCast keeps account and player profile information for as long as your account exists or as needed to provide the service. Records of expired or revoked sign-in sessions may be kept as security records. Match results and other sports records that involve other players may be kept after an account is deleted, as explained on the data deletion page.
9. Data Deletion and User Rights
You can view and edit your player profile at any time while signed in. You can also contact CourtCast to ask for a copy of your information, to correct it, or to have it deleted.
Any user, whether or not they are currently signed in, can request deletion of the data CourtCast holds about them by following the CourtCast Data Deletion instructions.
10. Security
CourtCast is served over HTTPS. Session cookies are marked HttpOnly, Secure and SameSite=Strict, session tokens are stored only in hashed form, and account changes are protected against cross-site request forgery. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so CourtCast cannot guarantee absolute security.
11. Third-Party Services
- Google provides Google Sign-In. If your profile photo comes from your Google account, your browser loads that image from Google's servers.
- Meta provides Facebook Login, as described in section 3.
These providers handle information under their own privacy policies. CourtCast pages may also link to external websites, such as venue websites, which have their own privacy practices.
12. Changes to This Policy
CourtCast may update this policy as the service changes. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last updated. Significant changes will be reflected on this page before they take effect.
